WATER : : BLADDER

The WATER element relates to:
* winter
* black
* salty
* cold
* KIDNEYS + BLADDER
* ears (sense organ)
* bones (tissue)
* fear

In relation to YIN organ systems, the YANG partnership is that of: receiving, moving, transforming, digesting, and excreting food/drink to refine + extract pure vital substances

YIN organ systems store the refined + pure vital substances: Qi, Blood, Essence, and Body Fluids which they receive from their partner organ system

KIDNEY is the YIN system, BLADDER is the YANG system of the WATER ELEMENT

The Bladder is easily affected by external pathogenic factors such as cold + dampness

It is also easily affected by fear. In children fear leads to sinking of Bladder Qi, which results in bed wetting. In adults, disharmonies of the Bladder can manifest with a more severe present using of fear, such as suspicion + jealousy

Too much of a good thing (sex + exercise) will deplete + weaken both the Kidneys and Bladder organ systems

The BLADDER meridian starts on the inside of your eye, travels up to the top of your head, where the meridian enters the brain to emerge at the nape of the neck. The meridian has two branches that run down parallel to the spine, covering the sacrum and back of the legs. The two branches meet in the back of your knee to continue as one all the way to the outside of your pinky toe.

There are 67 points found on the BLADDER meridian, and they affect:
* the back of the leg, anus, back, bladder, neck, head, and brain
* treat backache
* affect the eye
* expel exterior wind (headaches, common cold)
* expel interior wind (dizziness)
* affect all internal Organs via the two meridians covering the back

When the BLADDER meridian splits into two parallel meridians on our back, it gives rise to SHU points (aka back transporting points)

These SHU points are incredibly important points, as they directly affect the TCM ORGAN systems. Instead of stimulating Qi in an area where a needle is inserted, the SHU points generate Qi within the organ system when the needle is inserted.

All 12 Organ systems are affected:
Lungs
Pericardium
Heart
Liver
Gall Bladder
Spleen
Stomach
Triple Burner
Kidney
Large Intestine
Small Intestine
Bladder

When we deal with chronic diseases, the SHU point are essential. And since all organ systems resonate with specific emotions or spirits, these can also be crucial in treating emotional well-being (these points are found in the outer meridian of the Bladder)

The SHU points can also be separated as inner + outer back shu, which denotes which parallel line of the BLADDER meridian is being treated

The inner back shu are allocated for our Yin + Yang organs, as well as: governing vessel, diaphragm, sea of Qi, low back + uterus

The outer back shu correlate to mental aspects of the Yin organs:
* door of the corporeal soul (Lungs)
* hall of the mind (Heart)
* door of the ethereal soul (Liver)
* house of the mind (Spleen)
* room of will power (Kidneys)

For every new patient, I allow for more time to always start with an emotional clearing treatment. This sets the tone for relaxation + restoration.
The FOUNDATION treatment always begins with a back shu treatment.
