VIP patient: Myself + a baby

It is now harder to hide a growing belly from all of you :) I have had to scale back my availability, and conceal extreme fatigue and nausea for longer than I had hoped for. But I have had the most amazing support to help me through this time.

I have had the honor of enabling and supporting pregnancies, and it always such a joy to meet babies that I have sometimes known from day 1. I can now fully relate to some of the not so pleasant symptoms that arise, and have added more tools to my tool belt when it comes to supporting pregnancies.

I know I will get a few questions, and one that I want to get ahead of, is in regards to a baby shower or gifts.

My dear friend, and most relied upon support for me, Krista likes to say this:

“The baby does not need toys or gadgets, the baby needs well-resourced parents”

Instead of a registry at Target, or other Baby related businesses, I will have a registry for Resources. Resources that will allow me to be fully present and healthy as I get to navigate what life with a baby will look like. Just as much as I strive to Empower you with your health, I will be striving for that same standard for myself. That will include hiring the most amazing birth team to welcome new life into our home, hiring someone to cook nourishing and organic foods, hiring the best postpartum nurse to guide me through challenges, hiring a pelvic floor therapist to help the healing process, hiring an acupuncturist and other healing body workers, and preparing to not work for some time.
